2 Dead In Southeast MI Murder-Suicide: Sheriff
Two people were found shot to death Tuesday morning in a Monroe County home, according to sheriff's officials.
RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI — Two people were found shot to death Tuesday morning in a Monroe County home, according to sheriff's officials.
Officers at 9:47 a.m. Tuesday found 33-year-old Ryne Jacob Leist and 17-year-old Gwendolyn Fay Smith shot dead at a home in the 1600 block of Heiss Road near Steffas in Raisinville Township, officials said.
Officials ruled Smith's death a homicide and Leist's death a suicide.

Officials said Leist is a "known acquaintance" of Smith, but they don't believe the two were dating, saying, "they were merely acquaintances."
Officials also said rumors of Leist being employed as a coach with Bedford schools are untrue.
