'An Early Christmas Miracle!': Wayne County Man Hits $1M Lotto 47 Jackpot: MI Lottery

WAYNE COUNTY, MI — A Wayne County man said hitting the $1 million Lotto 47 jackpot was "an early Christmas miracle," according to Michigan Lottery officials.
The lucky 57-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the winning Lotto 47 numbers on Dec. 4: 02-10-13-24-29-46, according to lottery officials.
He bought his winning ticket at Maple Drugs, located at 1949 Wayne Road in Westland, according to lottery officials.

"The day after the drawing, I checked my Lotto 47 ticket by scanning it on the Lottery app," the player told lottery officials. "When confetti came up on the screen with the amount of $1.05 million, all I could think was: ‘It’s a miracle! An early Christmas miracle!’ It’s pretty amazing to invest $1 and win $1.05 million. Just like that, your financial future is clearer."
He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $728,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount, according to lottery officials.
