Whitmer To Visit Trump At White House This Week
Michigan Gov.-elect Gretchen Whitmer is attending her first meeting with President Trump. Here's what's in store.

LANSING, MI — Michigan’s governor-elect Gretchen Whitmer will travel this week to Washington D.C. to meet with President Donald Trump, according to a report. She’ll join other newly-elected governors meeting with the president and plans to keep Michigan at the forefront of his decisions.
The Detroit Free press said the the meeting is described by the White House as a "discussion” and is on Trump's schedule for Thursday afternoon.
“Governor-elect Whitmer will be part of a bipartisan group of governors-elect attending this meeting at the White House," Whitmer’s spokeswoman Clare Liening said Monday. "This is an opportunity to make sure Michigan has a voice at the table and find common ground on the issues that will be most important to our state moving forward — including federal trade policies, access to affordable health care, protecting our Great Lakes resources and moving forward on critical infrastructure improvements.”
