Woman Killed In Crash On Telegraph Road In Southeast MI: Police
Police do not believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
ASH TOWNSHIP, MI — A 30-year-old woman was killed in a Monday crash in Monroe County, according to the sheriff's office.
The crash happened at 5:06 p.m. Monday on Telegraph Road near Carleton Rockwood Road in Ash Township, officials said.
Officials said Jessica E. Benner was driving a 2012 gray Ford Escape on Telegraph Road when she slammed into the back of a red flat-bed truck. Benner's car then spun and left the roadway, coming to a rest on the shoulder, officials said.

The flat-bed truck was stopped as it was trying to turn onto a private drive.
Officials said the flat-bed truck had its left turn signal on and its brake lights were working when the crash happened.

Officials said Benner was killed in the crash. She was not wearing a seatbelt, officials said.
The driver of the flat-bed truck was not injured in the crash, officials said.
