• DNR Announces Support for Park Upgrades in 11 Counties in Michigan (theoutdoorwire.com) — Bay City State Park’s campground utilities are set for a $1.25 million upgrade, part of a new round of state Land and Water Conservation Fund grants. The DNR is steering nearly $12 million to 13 park and recreation projects across Michigan, improving playgrounds, pools, trails and campgrounds, including better infrastructure for visitors right here in Bay County.
   

• Garber grad snares All-American honor after leading nation in interceptions (mlive.com) — An Essexville Garber graduate with past MLive Bay City Dream Team honors just earned first-team All-American recognition after leading NCAA Division III with eight interceptions for Adrian College. Defensive back Ethan Burrows, now starring in the MIAA, helped the Bulldogs to an 8-2 season while piling up tackles, picks and all-conference awards.
