Crispelli's Adds Breakfast to the Menu

Crispelli's Bakery & Pizzeria in Berkley – known for its gourmet pizzas and popular patios – has added a new temptation: breakfast.

The Woodward Avenue restaurant recently began serving the morning meal, in addition to lunch and dinner, and has received a positive response, manager Kelly Willson said.

The service began quietly Sept. 24 so the restaurant could iron out the kinks, she said, and is available from 7-11 a.m. seven days a week, with offerings that range from $2 to $7.

The new menu items include the following, Kelly said.

• French toast.
• Belgian waffles.
• Quiche with wild mushrooms and leeks.
• Eggs gratin.
• Three types of calzones (feta, spinach and tomato; three-meat; corned beef and potatoes).
• Yogurt plates.
• A smoked salmon plate.
• Oatmeal.
• Sides including bacon and potato pancakes.
• A variety of fresh pastries.

Kelly said the restaurant aims to have its full breakfast menu posted online within the next week.

"We've had a wonderful response from the people who've come in," Kelly said. "So far, we haven't had any advertising. But it's gotten busier every day through word of mouth."
