Help Shape the Woodward 5's Future During Open House

Residents and business owners from Berkley, Huntington Woods, Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge and Royal Oak are invited to participate in the second Woodward 5 Sustainability Open House on Thursday.

The event will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Ridge Community Center at 4 Ridge Road. The first open house was held in March.

"We need your help to let us know about nongovernmental, community-based actions which are happening, or should happen, in support of local sustainability," wrote Nina Ignaczak, senior planner at Oakland County Planning & Economic Development Services, a co-facilitator of the event.

The Woodward 5 aims to collectively promote its member communities, located along 6 miles of Woodward Avenue, as a cultural hot spot and desirable place to live in Metro Detroit. It recently completed a community action survey to solicit residents' thoughts on how the five cities can create economic prosperity; improve transportation, energy efficiency and the environment; foster arts and culture; and more.
