
Are you or your organization interested in walking in this year's Celebrate Birmingham Parade? Now is the time to apply.
According to Laura Broski, the annual family parade — held every year to herald the start of summer — will be held at 1 p.m. May 20. The theme of this year's parade is "The Good Ole Days."
Those looking to participate must register their group by April 30 by filling out a Participation Form found at www.bhamgov.org/parade. Those looking to sponsor the parade must also fill out a form found at the city website by April 30.

, the 2012 parade will follow a new route — beginning on South Old Woodward at Brown, traveling north and then west on Maple Road, south on Bates before ending in .
Also new this year will be the Whiskers & Waggles Pet Parade, where kids can show off their furry friends during the parade's grand finale. Middle and elementary school students may register at their school or by filling out a registration form also found at www.bhamgov.org/parade.
