
The Birmingham Board of Education will meet for a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the on West Merrill Street.
During the meeting, the school board will interview three search firms to aid in this spring's search for a new superintendent.
The meeting was called last week after Superintendent David Larson announced that he had taken a superintendent position in Glenbard Township, IL, a high school district 30 miles west of Chicago.

, board president Susan Hill said the district has plans to publish a timelline of the search process, as well as a line-up of interviews and community events, in the next few weeks.
The public is invited to the meeting Tuesday night, though the meeting will also be broadcast on the district's website.

According to Birmingham Schools spokeswoman Marcia Wilkinson, three interviews are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., followed by brief discussions of each search firm candidate.
Wilkinson said the board's goal is to select a search firm by the end of the meeting Tuesday.
