Uptown Film Festival's 'Deforce' to Premiere on Documentary Channel Tuesday

Deforce, the documentary on Detroit and how its reputation as a city in ruins came to be, premieres on the Documentary Channel Tuesday night at 8 p.m.

The film had its Detroit premiere at the March 8-10 and is produced and co-written by Andrew Rodney, a graduate.

According to the film's website, the film:

"...attempts to break down how this once booming city with endless potential became infested with the struggles it attempts to resolve in the modern age. It asserts that these political issues were never resolved properly in the postwar period, and as a consequence, Detroit continues to toil in the problems of old. It remains a tragic fact that the city suffers from a high violence rate and generally a lower quality of life."
