Birmingham School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Birmingham is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Birmingham Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 10/31: Elementary and BCS Students Half Day (Professional Development)

November

• 11/3: End of First Term for Elementary School
• 11/6: End of First Quarter for BCS and Middle School
• 11/7: High School Half Day, No School for Elementary, BCS and Middle School Students (Elementary and BCS Records Prep, Middle School Professional Development and Records Prep)
• 11/15: Middle School Half Day, Conferences (1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
• 11/16: Middle School Conferences (4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.)
• 11/17: High School Students Attend Full Day with One Exam
