6 Hurt After SUV Smashes Into Oakland County Restaurant: Police
Investigators do not know what caused the crash.
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — Six people were injured after an SUV smashed into an Oakland County restaurant Thursday, according to police.
The crash happened at 1:40 p.m. at the Thai Taste To Go, located on Telegraph Road near Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Township, according to police.
Police said a 77-year-old woman was driving an SUV when she smashed through the storefront of the restaurant, injuring multiple people.

Five people were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while another person was treated and released at the scene, according to police.
Investigators do not know what caused the crash.

Police said the building will remain closed until repairs are made and officials can determine its structural soundness.
"We are grateful that the injuries sustained were not life-threatening, and we appreciate the quick coordination between the police and fire departments," Bloomfield Township Police Chief James Gallagher said in a statement. "We want to thank the witnesses who assisted on scene and to the West Bloomfield Township Fire Department for their assistance."
