Bloomfield Hills Law Firm Delivers $5,000 Scholarship
Iliria Camaj, of Utica is the inaugural winner of the Launch scholarship sponsored by Lusk & Albertson of Bloomfield Hills.

The attorneys at Lusk & Albertson are used to representing schools in legal matters and having an indirect impact on thousands of students around Metro Detroit. Now they're having a direct one.
The Bloomfield Hills-based law firm recently awarded its first "L&Aaunch" scholarship to a recent graduate in what is expected to be an annual effort. Utica High School graduate Iliria Camaj won the designation of the inaugural scholarship winner and its $5,000 award. The class of 2013 valedictorian graduated with a 4.18 grade point average and is headed to the University of Michigan to study international studies affairs.
"The scholarship is such a blessing, and I am beyond grateful," Camaj said. "I now know that others can see my drive and determination to reach my aspirations. I am looking forward to becoming involved in the Ann Arbor community and continuing my passion for learning, service and leadership there."
Her drive for academic success stems from her parents who immigrated to America for better opportunities.
"My parents have made countless sacrifices, and they have emphasized the importance of hard work and education," she said. "I compete with myself so that each day I can be better than yesterday. I want to make my family and myself proud."
The firm, founded in 2010 with a focus on schools and school districts, aims to recognize and financially support the high academic achievement of one outstanding student every year. The selection committee couldn't be happier with Camaj's selection, officials said.
“Iliria is a worthy winner of the first L&Aunch Scholarship,” said Kevin Sutton, chairman of the scholarship committee. “All of the student applicants were exemplary, but she truly impressed our committee with her poise, self-awareness, and maturity. She is destined for a great future.”
