Bloomfield Homeowner Thwarts Auto Larceny; Car Keyed in Neighbor Dispute
The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to a call about a larceny from auto in progress in the 300 block of Applewood Lane shortly be fore 3 a.m. on July 28, reports said.
The caller told officers on arrival that he went outside to smoke a cigarette and saw a man wearing dark clothing near vehicles in the driveway. The suspicious man ran eastbound on Applewood upon being discovered. Police confirmed that multiple vehicles in the driveway were ransacked and valuables were taken out.
All the items, however, were found in a backpack that was dropped on the ground nearby, reports said. No detailed physical description of the man was available. A police K-9 track of the scene was unsuccessful. The investigation is on-going.

Malicious Destruction of Property
A resident in the 7000 Block of Pinehurst Circle told police someone scratched his car with a key or other sharp object while parked overnight sometime between 9 p.m. on July 25 and 7:30 a.m. the following morning, report said. There were no witnesses, but the victim told police he believes it may be related to an on-going dispute with his neighbor. The investigation is on-going.
