Last night, Bloomfield Public Schools announced that classes would be canceled today due to the deep snow and freezing temperatures that hit metro Detroit yesterday. With temperatures in the 20s and dropping to the low teens in the evenings, Metro Detroit remains in the grip of freezing winter weather and deep accumulations of snow from yesterday’s storms.
The district announced last night that school was canceled for today, Thursday Dec 14: ““Due to weather and road conditions, Bloomfield Hills Schools will be closed December 14, 2017. After school activities and the Board of Education meeting (study session scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and special meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Bloomfield Hills High School) will, however, be permitted. All Recreation after school activities are also cancelled tomorrow, 12/14/17.”
With temperatures warming slightly, and snow not in the forecast again until this weekend, it seems likely that school will resume tomorrow. Any further delays or cancelations will be announced by the district on its website, in addition to being relayed to dozens of local media outlets.
