Bloomfield Township Website Gets a Redesign

The Bloomfield Township website gets a fresher, cleaner look with easier navigation in mind.

Bloomfield Township's official website has a new look.

The complete redesign of the site, which went live early Thursday morning, was designed with users, and easier navigation tools in mind, according to officials at Township Hall

Greg Kowalski, who took over as director of communications for the township in June, said the process was long underway by his predecessor, Leslie Helwig, when he came aboard.

"I was glad to see that this was being done," said Kowalski, the former editor of the Eccentric Newspapers.  "In my years at the Eccentric, I often referred to the township website and thought it was "old-fashioned" - too cluttered and difficult to maneuver through."

The township's web consultant, Municipal Web Services, or muniweb, redesigned the site, which appear much cleaner with larger print and reorganized drop down menus deemed to be more user friendly.

"That's is what's key," he continued. "We've all faced the frustrations of going to one website or another and bouncing around looking for what we want.  With the new design we hope it will be easier for everyone to get the information they want or make the contact they need."

Kowalski said the township is open to and collecting feedback that may result in further improvements.
