Can You Identify This Bloomfield Township Fraud Suspect?
Authorities continue to investigate leads in the rash of recent mail thefts that occurred in the Bloomfield Township, and they need your help.

Investigators with the Bloomfield Township Police Department need the public's help in trying to identify a suspect wanted in connection with at least one recent mailbox theft that led to a fraud.
A resident in the 1000 block of Top View Court called police last week after discovering a check she put in the streetside mailbox late last month did not reach its destination by July 15, reports said. When she contacted her bank, the woman learned the check was used at a Meijer store in Livonia on July 9.
Detectives obtained video surveillance footage from the store on that day and isolated a suspect they believe used the check to make the purchase, and the vehicle he drove. The man is described as black, between 25 -35 years old with a medium build and medium complexion, reports said. He also had a mustache and goatee, and wore dark colored shorts and a dark short-sleeve shirt with the American flag on front and the word "Ralph Lauren" across the bottom.
The suspect also wore red gym shoes and had a white baseball cap with a blue bill and an American flag on the front. He left the store in a dark-colored sedan.
Mail theft has been a persistent problem in Bloomfield Township, prompting the department to issue four separate community alerts this year. Authorities encourage residents to only use post offices or official postal mailboxes to send outgoing checks.
