Five Events for Bloomfield Area Kids at Local Libraries
Mark your calendars for these fun upcoming events at the Baldwin and Bloomfield township public libraries.

Residents of Bloomfield Hills and Bloomfield Township are fortunate to have two top-notch libraries with plentiful resources and programming throughout the year. With school still out and dog-days of summer upon us, here's five special events geared for kids that could be worth your while at the Baldwin Public Library and Bloomfield Township Public Library.
Animal Magic
Mark Rosenthal will visit the Bloomfield Township Public Library Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with a few of his exotic animal friends. “Diggers” from around the world, including a Mexican bearded lizard, African millipedes, hairy armadillo, a Patagonian cavy will be on display for children age 5 and older. No registration is required for the free event.
Children's Authors Visit
Spend the afternoon with three nationally recognized Michigan area children's authors from 1-3 p.m. July 30 at the Baldwin Public Library. Denise Brennan-Nelson, author of Buzzy the Bumblebee, Rhonda Gowler Greene, author of Barnyard Song and No Pirates Allowed, and Shutta Crum, author of Thunder-Boomer will all be together at one event.Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event, which is free and open to the public. The visit is sponsored by the Book Beat Bookstore and the Baldwin Public Library. Call the Book Beat at 248-968-1190 to reserve copies.
Life Beneath the Surface
The Organization for Bat Conservation brings Vampire bats and other cave dwelling animals to the library an engaging live animal program at 6:30 p.m. July 31. Informative and fun for the entire family. No registration is required for this free, informative and family-fun event.
Pizza & Pages Teen Book Club
Join the Baldwin Library staff and local teens for free pizza & great books at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1. The August title is Lockdown by Alexander G. Smith. Be one of the first 15 teens to register and get your very own "book of the month." The program is co-sponsored by Jet's Pizza. Books are generously donated by the Friends of the Baldwin Public Library.

Randy Kaplan Family Concert
