Hoops for Hope
The Bloomfield Hills High School men's basketball team will host a Hoops for Hope basketball game to benefit pediatric cancer research when they play Clarkston Tuesday at 7 p.m. Proceeds will be donated to CureSearch and will also help a newly diagnosed family in need of financial assistance in their fight against the disease. A special appearance by Cal Cagno, from the 89X show Cal & Co. Mornings, music by StarTrax, and various raffles are planned. T-shirts will be available for $10 and will act as your “ticket” into the game.Circle of Friends Luncheon: Benefit CARE House
Help support CARE House of Oakland County in its mission to provide a safe haven for parents and children victimized by abuse at an annual fundraising luncheon Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. John Walsh, host of America's Most Wanted, author, and victim's rights advocate, is the featured speaker, and Gov. Rick Snyder will be in attendance as the afternoon's honored guest. The Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees will conduct their last of three public meetings scheduled this month with a special work session at 8 a.m. Jan. 30 in the trustee conference room.
