1 Dead, 3 Hurt In Oakland County Crash: Police

The crash involved a black Grand Cherokee and a white Honda Accord, according to police.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — An infant died and three other people were injured in an Oakland County crash Saturday.

The crash happened at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in front of an IHOP restaurant on Telegraph Road near Square Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills, according to police.

Police said a white Honda Accord was moving east from a median turnaround on Telegraph Road when a northbound black Grand Cherokee broadsided it.

Witnesses told officers that the Grand Cherokee drove through a red light traffic signal at the median crossing, according to police.

Three people, including a woman who was 23 weeks pregnant, were inside the Accord and injured in the crash, according to police.

The pregnant woman suffered serious injuries and underwent an emergency delivery at roughly 4 p.m. that day, according to police.

The infant died the next day, according to police.

A child, who was properly secured in a car seat inside the Accord, suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to police.

Both drivers were also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to police.

No other details were released as police were still investigating the crash.
