Kirk In The Hills' Comfort and Hope Service Offers Support

The Kirk in the Hills will offer a service of comfort and hope Thursday, Dec 21, at 7 p.m. The church, located at 1340 W. Long Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills, says the service is “for remembrance and healing for those needing God’s special touch during the holidays.” Many suffer from depression in the winter, and the stresses of holidays make this a hard time of year for some. According to information on the Kirk in the Hills’ website, “We are all aware of the joy the holidays can bring. However, for many people the holidays can be a difficult time.”
The service Thursday will focus on “comfort and hope for those who are hurting, not only from a loved one's death, but also for those who have experienced loss through divorce, depression or any one of life's many other challenges.” The church itself is a beautiful, welcoming space, patterned after Scotland’s Melrose Abbey. The large stone sanctuary has soaring stained glass windows, and is a peaceful place to get away from the hardships of everyday life, even for the non-religious in need of comfort.
