LITTLE PEOPLE STINGING
THE FEET OF GIANTS

Giants were literally and economically huge people who were in control of humanity’s resources. They were the most powerful economical machine in society. They controlled political and financial systems of all times. Genesis 6:4: “There were giants in the earth in those days ….”
They were not concerned about the economic well-being of poor people, only the status quo. Subsequently, God condemned them and took back His world, and saved the little man who was Noah and his family. The sons of God departed from the faith and left God and Noah. Genesis 6:2: “… the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.” They married the giants because they did not believe the preaching of Noah concerning the destruction of the world by a flood. They desired wealth! In the New Testament, Timothy declared, 1 Timothy 6:10: “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
In this context, the ant is a metaphor of little people who work hard, and are exceedingly wise. The wise preacher, King Solomon articulated to people who do not desire to work, Proverbs 6:6: “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.” Noah was a common man, the only righteous minister in the world at that time. He worked extraordinarily hard in a godly manner to help save humanity! Genesis 6:9: “… Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.” Jesus said, St. Matthew 5:48: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Noah had faith in God’s word. That is why God said that he was perfect. His faith in God’s word of destruction moved him with fear. He preached about divine destruction coming upon the earth because of the sin of greed! The message he preached was stinging the feet of giants.
The literal overwhelming stature of giants terrified common people. They took their land through oppression and intimidation. They continued to oppress them because they had power to do so! They were huge people who did not have compassion on the most vulnerable people of their society. They did not believe Noah’s message concerning the destruction of the world by a flood, because it never rained before.
In all eras, God only saves believers who accept His teachings! The world did not believe him. Therefore, God said that they should drown in the flood. However, Noah’s family believed and helped him prepare the ark for the saving of their souls. Although it never rained before, they believed their father’s prophetic message concerning the flood, and obeyed! Genesis 2:5-6: “… for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth …. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.”
Noah was not renowned like the giants of the world. However, he was little like the ant, and extraordinarily wise with the wisdom of the word of God. King Solomon reiterated, Proverbs 30:25: “The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer.” Verse 24: “… but they are exceeding wise.”
Although Noah was small in the eyes of humanity, he was great in the sight of God, and the spiritual leader of his family. Peter declared in the New Testament, 2 Peter 2:5: “… [God] spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.” God does not respect multitudes of people who do not obey His divine laws and statutes of righteousness. He did not allow a devilish multitude to come into His ark. We should prefer to be like Noah and his family in a solitary place of worship with God. We observe that God destroyed a multiplicity of people who were not obedient. He created humanity to believe and love Him, worship, and serve Him, and help one another!
The sons of God were followers of the teachings of Noah for a while, until he spoke of surrendering to God and giving up the world of the giants, which consist merely of material things, and not faith. Genesis 6:4: “… when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” God was angry with them because of their sophisticated scams. Verses 5-7: “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”
God took His world from the giants and drowned them in the flood. The flood came as a result of a storm. God created the universe. He controls all things that currently exist. John proclaimed, Revelation 7:1: “… I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.”
Jesus demonstrated His overwhelming supernatural power in the midst of His disciples when they were in the ship with Him and the storm arose. St. Mark 4:38-41: “And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Jesus Christ is God manifested in human flesh. They were happy to be with Him in the ship, as Noah’s family was glad that they obeyed and was in the ark when the flood began to beat upon the ark. However, they were safe. The Psalmist gave God praise because He created and controlled the floods and the storms. Psalm 29:10: “The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.”
The Psalmist proclaimed in his era, Psalm 107:25: “For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.” Psalm 24:1: “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”
God said to Noah, Genesis 6:17: “And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.”
Noah was a praying man of God who made intercessory prayer for himself and family. His message was against the evil establishment of the giants because of their greed and sophisticated scams. He stung the feet of giants! He had faith in God, and prayed for divine intervention and condemned the world. He was wise like the ant. Noah was able to keep his little land. He prepared and built an ark for God, and for the saving of his family, debt free!
Verse 8: “… Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” Genesis 7:1: “And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.” Verse 7: “And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.”
Verses 13-16: “In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark; They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.” God protected them when they obeyed and came into the ark in the appropriate time. There were no homosexuals among the family of Noah. God destroyed them with the masses of unbelievers because homosexuals cannot be instrumental in replenishing the earth with children.
Genesis 9:1: “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.” The Psalmist was consistent, Psalm 127:3: “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” When females conceive in their wombs, babies are born into the world. God rewards Himself for creating humanity! When women have abortions, they sin when they destroy and deprive God of human life. He will judge them severely!
All humans are current descendants of Noah and his family. The males in Noah’s family married women! Genesis 7:12: “And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.” Verses 21-23: “And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.” The ark was the house of God for Noah and his family. In King David’s era, 1 Chronicles 15:1: “And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.”
God sent a storm to fulfill His prophetic words. Subsequently, the flood destroyed all humanity except Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives. God saved only eight people. He destroyed all nationalities of the world because they disobeyed His words. He also spared two of every kind of beast, fowls, and creeping things, both male and female. They were survivors. The way in which Noah and his family survived: they had faith in God’s word of destruction, and obeyed Him!
The New Testament Hebrew writer was consistent with the Old Testament account of Noah’s profound faith and obedience to God! Hebrews 11:7: “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” The storm of life will come to everyone. However, God will save only those who repent and believe; who are not His enemies; prepared by faith in Him! He controls all the storms of life.
The Israelis who did not have faith in God to overcome the giants said to Moses, Numbers 13:33: “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Verse 30: “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”
God proclaimed to Moses to give Caleb Hebron for an inheritance for him and his family. Numbers 14:24: “But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.”
Joshua, who was the spiritual leader after the death of Moses, and Caleb, had extraordinary faith in God in their era. They were the last two people of the generation that Moses brought out of Egypt who survived forty years in the wilderness. The younger generation inherited the Promised Land under the spiritual leadership of Joshua. God propounded to Joshua, Joshua 1:3: “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.” Caleb emphasized to Joshua that God had given him and his family Hebron by promise. Joshua 14:10: “And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.” Verses 13-14: “And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance. Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh … because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.”
Joshua and Caleb were powerful examples of those who have faith in God in all times. They were little people who stung the feet of giants! Joshua gave Caleb his portion of the Promised Land on his eighty-fifth birthday!
When Goliath raged against the people of God, no man in the army of Israel, including King Saul, would fight with him. He was the champion of the Philistines. He terrified them. 1 Samuel 17:24: “And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.” At that particular time, Israel was in captivity. The Philistines had dominion over them. The oppression of God’s people concerned Him. He anointed David to fight against giants through prayer, and to be instrumental in their ultimate demise in warfare.
Verses 32-33: “And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” God taught David to defeat his enemies in spiritual and literal warfare. He was too young to go to military school. However, he was a skillful warrior when he was a child. David said, Psalm 144:1: “Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.”
1 Samuel 17:50: “So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.” David prevailed against the Philistines because the LORD was with him. God brought freedom to His people from the tyrants of the world. God Himself fought against the giant. In that era, David was a little lad, too young to be a soldier in the army of Israel. However, the Lord was with him, and anointed him to fight and defeat giants. The Psalmist declared that God chose David to protect human lives as he took care of his father’s lamb and sheep. Psalm 78:70-72: “He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.”
In later years, David trained soldiers to be warriors for God. 1 Chronicles 20:8: “These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.”
God fulfilled the prophetic message He gave to David. Psalm 89:19-24: “… I have exalted one chosen out of the people. I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him. The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him ….”
Conclusion, God was with him because he was the Lord’s anointed, stinging and killing the feet of giants! He protected God’s people. His enemies did not defeat him in warfare. For forty years, he fought battles for God. He was a little lad when he fought the Philistine giant when others were afraid to fight him. David declared, Psalm 37:25: “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”
