The mascot doesn’t speak, leading to some befuddling moments as Fultz tried to guess what was going on. Was her admission to the Tigers’ game against the Minnesota Twins free?
Nope.
Paws pulled a baseball from under his Tigers hat. On it was written the question that Weinke has been planning to pop in an elaborate way.
“Will you marry me?”
She said yes, to the relief of Weinke, who was waiting on bended knee.
“I saw Paws come out and I got speechless; and I saw her and when that ball came out – that was a wrap – there are not words to describe the feeling I had on one knee,” Weinke told WJBK-TV. “Those were the longest 30 seconds of my life.”
