No Serious Injuries in Semi-Truck Crash in Bloomfield Hills

Multiple lanes of Woodward remained closed until crews could removed a tree and downed utility pole Thursday.

Officers with the Bloomfield Hills Department of Public Safety cited a
landscaping company crew for causing the semi-truck crash that caused major delays during Thursday morning's commute

Chief David Hendrickson said the landscaper's truck failed to yield to a southbound tandem gravel hauler that was in the curb lane just south of the Woodward Avenue and Long Lake road intersection at about 8:30 a.m. The two collided, sending the empty gravel hauler over the curb and into a parked vehicle before coming to rest at a tree in front of the Radisson Hotel.

The semi-truck driver was treated at the scene for minor lacerations and taken to a hospital for further evaluation. His status was not available Thursday afternoon. Neither the driver of the landscaping truck nor the passenger in the parked vehicle were hurt.

Tow trucks removed both the passenger vehicle and  gravel hauler, and two lanes of southbound Woodward remained closed until noon while crews with the Road Commission of Oakland County removed the trees and debris from the crash, Hendrickson said.
