OCHN’s Rachel Rhodes Receives Preventionist of the Year Award
OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (October 23, 2023) – Oakland Community Health Network’s (OCHN)
Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Prevention Coordinator, Rachel Rhodes, has received the Preventionist of
the Year Award from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
This prestigious honor is given for an effective, innovative
program, conscientiousness toward quality of work and
programming, and capacity towards collaboration with
business partners.
Rhodes actively participates and consistently gives input for
state level prevention meetings and responds to email
inquiries with needed information. She volunteered to
participate in the Prevention Ethics Training of Trainers.
Recently, she shared her expertise during a meeting with the
National Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center
(SPTAC) to review Strategic Prevention Framework trainings
needed in Michigan. Additionally, she offers technical
assistance to the prevention provider network and specifically
has improved the Synar activities process in Oakland County.
Rhodes was presented the award at the 24th Annual Michigan
Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorder Conference on
September 12, 2023.
