Police Cite Minors For Drinking; Locker Larceny at LA Fitness

The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department issued nine citations for underage drinking after breaking up a gathering on Brightmore Street. Police responded to a call of suspicious vehicles in front of a home on Sandhurst on June 29, reports said. A passenger in one of the vehicles ran of when officers arrived, prompting a call for  police K-9 that tracked their scent to a home in the 4000 block of Brightmore.

The officers said they saw evidence of underage drinking inside and obtained a search warrant when no one came to the door. Nine people inside were identified as underage and were drinking, reports said. Police contacted the parents and charges are pending.

Locker Larceny

A patron at the L.A. Fitness reported items were taken from a locked locker late last month. The man said he returned from a 90-minute workout to find a padlock cut and removed from his locker on June 27, reports said. His watch, cash and credit cards were missing, and a credit card was later used in Troy, police said. No suspect information is available, but the investigation is ongoing.

No Dumping
Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are investigating the illegal dumping of building debris in a dumpster parked in the 2000 block of Klingensmith. A resident reported that strangers repeatedly dumped building materials on his property beginning on June 10, reports said. The man reported paying roughly $800 to have the debris removed. Some of the items had possible identification on them and the case was turned over to detectives for further review.
