Police Track Down Woman in Bloomfield Gas Theft
The Bloomfield Township Police Department and Bloomfield Hills Department of Public Safety provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Bloomfield Township
Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department located a resident who drove off from a gas station without paying and made her return to pay the bill last week.
Officer responded to the Mobil station at 43003 Woodward Ave. for a reported drive-off larceny of gas shortly after 1 p.m. July 20, police reports said. The clerk told police that a woman entered with her Visa card and asked the clerk to “open the pump.”
The clerk activated the pump and the woman pumped $80 worth of gas into her pickup truck. She then entered her vehicle and drove off onto Square Lake Road.

The officers went to the home associated with the Visa card that was left behind at the gas station and found the pickup truck that left the station. The woman was home and claimed she used the wrong credit card, reports said. Officers escorted her back to the Mobil station to pay for her gas in full.
It does not appear the incident will result in any charges.

Bloomfield Hills
Other than a crash Thursday involving an empty gravel hauler and two other vehicles on Woodward Avenue that resulted in minor injuries, Officers with the Bloomfield Hills Department of Public Safety reported no major police or fire related incidents last week.
