Thrift Shop Fashion Show to Benefit South Oakland Shelter

Rosie O'Grady's in Ferndale hosts a fund-raising event to benefit the South Oakland Shelter (SOS) on July 30 at 6:30 p.m. The primary goals are to raise funds and collect clothing for clients. Just a $5 contribution or donation of gently used clothing gets you in with a SOS wristband.

Jazz at the Maple Theater Cafe

The staff at the revamped Maple Theater show again why this is not your parent's Maple Theater by hosting live music at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1. Hear the Dave Lundin Jazz Duo play jazz for real jazz lovers, including hard bop, blues, ballads and latin tunes by giants of the genre, including Miles, Coltrane, Monk and Parker. The event is free.

Epiphany Glass Open Studios

The Epiphany Studios, located at 770 Orchard Lake Road, just beyond the Bloomfield Township border with Pontiac, resumes its First Thursday open house from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. Aug. 1. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to watch glass blowing demonstrations in this world class hot glass facility. The event is free and considered family friendly.

Randy Kaplan Family Concert

Rock out with Randy Kaplan with music and fun for the entire family at 7 p.m. Thursday Aug. 1. at the Bloomfield Township Public Library. All ages are welcome and no registration is required.

Chamber 411

The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce will host a 'Chamber 411' event for members to network and learn how to maximize membership to improve their business or organization from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at the Birmingham Covington School in Bloomfield Township. Coffee and light breakfast snacks are included.
