Wallet Stolen at Bloomfield's Hollywood Market

The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are investigating two different larceny-related reports from last week.

The first incident was reported by an elderly woman who said someone stole her wallet while she shopped at Hollywood Market on Aug. 22. The victim told police that she was shopping and that she had her purse open
and the wallet in plain view in her cart, reports said.

She noticed the wallet missing when she went to checkout, and had no description of a possible suspect. Investigators are attempting to
identify the perpetrator.

The other incident was reported by officers on patrol in the Bloomfield Place Apartments on Aug. 23, who said they found a vehicle with its rear window broken out at about 12:30 a.m. Reports said that the officers could still hear the glass cracking, indicating the damage was fresh, but could not locate any suspect.

Officers contacted the vehicle owner, who said the car was parked about 2 hours earlier and didn’t hear anything suspicious. She told officers that the person responsible may be a prior acquaintance. The case has been turned over to detectives to follow up.

Anyone with information about either incident is encouraged to call the department at 248-433-7752.
