5 Arrested After Livingston County Ulta Robbery, Shooting: Police
Five women were arrested Thursday after police said the group tried stealing from a Green Oak Township beauty store.

GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, MI — Five women were arrested Thursday after police said the group tried stealing from a Green Oak Township beauty store.
The group of women walked into an Ulta store at the Village Place Mall at 8 p.m. and began stuffing a bag with merchandise, Michigan State Police said.
When troopers arrived at the store, the group ran out of the store, police said. Troopers chased the group until one woman got into a car and tried driving away, police said.

The woman tried speeding out of the parking lot, driving directly toward a trooper, who then fired a shot at the car, police said. The round went through the windshield and did not strike the driver, police said.
The car then crashed into a building in the parking lot, police said. No one was injured in the shooting or crash, police said.

The group of women was placed in the Livingston County jail and were expected to face several charges, including organized retail fraud and felonious assault, police said.
The robbery comes after a string of Ulta store robberies in Metro Detroit, including Sterling Heights, Warren, and Troy stores.
