5 Things to Know About Brighton Summer Activities for Kids

Still looking for ideas for how to occupy your child's summer? Check out some of these options at Brighton Community Education where spaces are still available.

Ages 3-5.  Use magnifying glasses to explore the world under your feet.  Find out how plants grow and check out bugs up close.  This great hands-on camp introduces your child to the life-cycles of plants and insects and more.
Ages 4-7/8-11. Get ready to jam with one fun-filled week of dance! Enthusiastic instructors will teach a variety of steps and skills in different forms of dance including hip-hop, jazz, lyrical- ballet, pom-pon, and a production style song and dance routine! Participants will have a blast playing games and creating crafts incorporating the dance theme.
The Advanced Painting & Art Camp is designed for the true artist at heart. This camp goes beyond the basics to a more advanced level. Artists will learn and challenge themselves in a fun, relaxed environment. Previous camp experience is recommended, but not required. Wear painting clothes to class.
Grades K and Up.  All of our campers are divided in groups according to their chess experience, and a teacher is assigned to each group. Each group, whether they are brand new to the game, or experienced tournament players, receives their own chess instruction, with lessons from our energetic Chess Wizards curriculum.
Be a part of the design and engineering team that builds a working miniature roller coaster, 3 feet long and 3 feet high! Make it fast, fun and safe. Build steep inclines and exciting drops while understanding the mechanics of roller coasters. Kids will go home with an amusement ride kit.
