Brighton Business Supports and Honors Autism Awareness Month

Tocca Massage in Brighton will be donating 10 percent of sales from the month of August in honor of Autism Awareness Month.

In honor of August being Autism Awareness Month as well as one of their own clients, Tocca Massage in Brighton will be donating 10 percent of their sales to a local organization.

Introduced to young Beckham Johnston who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 18 months, Tocca Massage began helping their young client after his father found that therapeutic massage may help relax and soothe him.

"We were thrilled to work with him and Ashley (Tocca masseuse) has so far made a difference in his life," the announcement read. "On massage days he is noticeably more relaxed as the therapy takes the tension out of his body. Ashley makes a special trip to Beckham’s house so he is comfortable and that maximizes the massage benefits."

The proceeds raised from sales and also the sale of Tocca Massage T-shirts will go to the Arc of Livingston, a non-profit membership organization that advocates for people with developmental disabilities in Livingston County.

"We continue to grow and respond to the needs of our citizens with disabilities in an effort to support their participation in and contribution to the community," stated the Tocca Massage announcement.

To donate, stop by Tocca's Massage or online at Autism Speaks.
