Man Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash On Old U.S. 23 In MI: Police
Police said the victim was riding his bike after finishing his night shift job when he was fatally hit by a 2013 Ford F-150.
HARTLAND TOWNSHIP, MI — A 63-year-old Brighton man was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Hartland Township early Monday morning, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at 1:40 a.m. Monday morning on Old U.S. 23 near Bergin Road in Hartland Township, according to police.
Police said a 22-year-old Howell man was riding his bicycle south on Old U.S. 23 after finishing his night shift job when he was fatally hit by a 2013 Ford F-150.

There were no witnesses, but a passerby called 911, according to police.
The driver of the truck sped away from the scene, but investigators were able to determine the vehicle's make and model thanks to parts found at the scene, according to police.

Investigators eventually identified the 63-year-old Brighton man as the driver, and arrested him in connection with the crash, according to police.
It was immediately unclear what charges the man will face.
Police did not release the names of either the suspected driver or the victim. Police do not know if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The incident is still under investigation.
