Metro Detroit Man Wins $1M Lottery Prize Day After Getting Married
A Livingston County man won a $1 million prize from a scratch-off ticket a day after his wedding, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI — A Livingston County man won a $1 million prize from a scratch-off ticket a day after his wedding, according to Michigan Lottery officials.
The 57-year-old man, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning Diamond and Pearls instant game ticket at Prudenville E-Z Mart, located at 2403 West Houghton Lake Drive in Prudenville, which is roughly 30 miles south of Grayling, according to Michigan Lottery officials.
"I bought the ticket the day after my wedding and gave it to my wife to scratch," the man said. "When she revealed the ‘$1 MIL’ prize amount, we were in disbelief. We kept reading the instructions over and over again to make sure we really won. It was an exciting couple of days for us!"

The man chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000, rather than annuity payments for the full amount, according to Michigan Lottery officials.
He plans to invest his winnings, according to Michigan Lottery officials.
