Triple Money Monday Resounding Gift from the Community
Approximately $130,000 was donated to the Livingston County United Way in the one-day event.

Yesterdayβs Livingston County United Wayβs Triple Money Monday was a phenomenal success, with the community stepping up in a big way.
Approximately $130,000 was donated in the one-day event.Β
Residents and businesses alike shared in the collective success of the day, through donations given at drop off locations, on-line and by telephone.Β Donations collected on Triple Money Monday are designated specifically to provide basic-needs support for local families and individuals. Additionally, all donations stay local to provide assistance to Livingston County residents.

Match support for Triple Money Monday was provided by an anonymous donor, the Howell Rotaryβs Tour de Livingston, Citizens Insurance Co., DTE Energy Foundation and Blue Cross Blue Shield of MI.Β Β
βWithout the support of these great partners, Triple Money Monday wouldnβt have been possible this year,β shared Nancy Rosso, Executive Director of the Livingston County United Way. βWe are grateful for their strong belief in the solid work thatβs being done through collective efforts in the community.β

Throughout the day, volunteers greeted guests as they stopped in to drop off a donation.Β
βWe had CEOs, elected officials and other key community leaders welcoming our guests at the United Way office,β continued Rosso. βIt was a great day for people to make connections and to get a real sense of the giving season.β
βSome special stories were shared, which just warmed our hearts,β said Rosso.Β A few included:
- The Howell High School volleyball team was a recent winner of grant funds from the Citizens Insurance Day of Caring Youth Challenge; they βpaid it forwardβ by donating some of the money to Triple Money Monday.
- A young widow donated the last $20 in her purse βbecause weβre all part of the United Way family.β
- The βGive It Awayβ 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run coordinators donated all the proceeds of their event because it could be tripled to better serve the community.
βThe Board of Directors and staff of the Livingston County United Way want to thank our entire community for showing how much they care.Β We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season,β stated Rosso.
