'10 under 40′ Exhibition Opens at River Gallery in Chelsea

A juried exhibition featuring 10 artists under the age of 40 runs through Dec. 22 at the Chelsea River Gallery.

Earlier this year, the gallery launched its second major competition in its nine-year history.

In keeping with the gallery’s mission to identify and promote emerging talent as well as exhibit mid-career and established visual artists, River Gallery sent out a regional call for entries to artists under 40.

The artists' work includes paintings, prints, drawings, ceramic sculpture, video installation and performance art.

River Gallery has invited 10 collectors, academics and art enthusiasts to form an advisory committee that will judge the work of the 10 finalists and award cash prizes of $1,000, $750 and $500.
