Chelsea Police Investigate Hit and Run

A 39-year-old Chelsea resident was issued a citation for failing to stop at a property damage accident after a woman told police he crashed into her car.

According to the police report, the woman was driving down Railroad Street March 25 at 10 a.m. when she noticed her ex-husband following her and honking his horn in an attempt to get her to pull over.

The report states that the woman continued to drive and ignore the man, and slowed her vehicle to allow the man to pass her.

The woman told Chelsea police, the report states, that the man then attempted to cut her off and crashed into her car. He then took off and left the area, according to the report.

The woman drove to the police station where she reported the accident. Police were able to interview the man, and a warrant was authorized for failure to stop at a property damage accident.
