Gallery 100 at Silver Maples Presents Beyond the Cover: Celebrating Local Art (thesuntimesnews.com) β€” Chelsea residents are invited to Beyond the Cover, a free art exhibition at Gallery 100 in Silver Maples of Chelsea, running January 9 through February 27, 2026. Featuring the artists behind the Chelsea District Library newsletter covers, the show pairs original works with the cover art and includes an opening reception on January 15 from 6:30–8 p.m.

Shoplifter stole meat from Chelsea store by stuffing it into his pants, police say (mlive.com) β€” Chelsea police are investigating after a man reportedly hid several packages of meat in his pants and left Polly’s Country Market without paying. The incident happened Sunday evening, and officers are still working to identify the suspect and vehicle involved.

Lawrence Lees 'Larry' Wolcott (thesuntimesnews.com) β€” Family and friends are mourning Lawrence β€œLarry” Wolcott, an 89-year-old retired science teacher and University of Michigan graduate remembered for his craftsmanship, curiosity, and devotion to loved ones.
