Chelsea Doctor Awarded the 2013 Archie Award for Excellence

Dr. James F. Peggs established the Family Medicine teaching and clinical practice in Chelsea.

The winner of the 2013 Archie Award for Excellence, Dr. James F. Peggs of Chelsea is a clinical professor and senior associate chair in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School.

Peggs was awarded the honor in April, which was "established to honor a Michigan physician who has distinguished himself or herself on behalf of the Academy and in the health care community," according to a report from the Chelsea Standard. 

After earning his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Peggs completed a residency in Family Medicine at Lancaster General Hospital in and in 1978, joined the U-M faculty and established the Family Medicine teaching and clinical practice in Chelsea, according to the University of Michigan website.
