Chelsea Girl Scouts Collecting Food for Faith in Action on Saturday

Families can shop for items to help restock the food pantry's shelves at Polly's Country Market.

The Chelsea Girl Scouts will be at Polly’s Country Market on Nov. 3 for the annual "Scouting for Food" food drive in support of Faith In Action.

At this time of year, the local organization’s food bank is in particular need of restocking as families prepare for holiday celebrations. Girl Scouts will be handing out a list of sought after items by FIA, though any donation will be accepted. They will also be there to collect donated food items and deliver them to FIA.

Anita Mosier, Chelsea Girl Scout area manager, encourages residents to turn their weekly grocery shopping trip into an opportunity to help their community.

β€œJust adding an extra item or two to your cart can go a long way in assisting FIA in helping our neighbors," she said.

Chelsea Girl Scouts will be at Polly’s Country Market, 1255 South Main St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
