Chelsea Man Arrested on Drunken Driving Charge
The following information was supplied by the Chelsea Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A 27-year-old Chelsea man was arrested March 17 at 3 a.m. on charges of drunken driving after a Chelsea police officer witnessed the man swerving along Main Street.
According to the report, the officer observed the man's vehicle pulling out of a driveway and heading northbound on Main Street. The report states the driver was weaving in the lane of traffic and driving well below the posted speed limit.
The report states that the officer pulled the driver over on Old US 12 near Wilkinson. The officer asked the driver to preform field sobriety tests and take a preliminary breath test. The report states that the driver refused.

The man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. A search warrant was obtained for a blood test and the man was taken to Washtenaw County Jail.
Charges are pending the results of the blood test. The incident remains under investigation.
