Chelsea Retirement Community Recepient of 'Golden Sneaker Award'

The CRC had the most participants in the 2012 CROP Hunger Walk.

For the fourth year in a row, the Chelsea Retirement Community has won the coveted Chelsea/Dexter CROP Hunger Walk Golden Sneaker Award.

This award is given to the organization that raises the most money per walker. CROP walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local congregations or groups to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.

During the 2012 walk, the Chelsea Retirement Community raised on average $600 raised per walker.

The total amount raised by the Chelsea/Dexter CROP Hunger Walk was also up last year. More than $24,769 dollars were raised by 12 different organizations from the two communities.
