Fracking, Water Quality Subject of Presentation at Chelsea Retirement Community
The Michigan Environmental Council will answer audience questions about the controversial fracking process on Jan. 31.

Chelsea Retirement Community will host a free program titled βFracking and Water Protection,β on Jan. 31 at 3 p.m.
James Clift, policy director for the Michigan Environmental Council, will speak about fracking, a controversial process of extracting natural gas from shale rock layers deep within the earth.
Clift is a graduate of Central Michigan University and Wayne State University Law School. He has taught or lectured at schools across the state including the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Oakland University, Wayne State University and Central Michigan University, according to a press release.

Clift also worked at the Michigan Senate and served as a policy director, where he supervised a 12-member policy staff that was primarily responsible for environmental protection issues.
