Independent Filmmaker Premieres Supernatural Thriller in Chelsea
University of Texas alum Sharad Patel will debut his film "Christian Rhone" at the River Gallery in Chelsea on Nov. 3.

Independent filmmaker Sharad Patel will host a special screening of his feature length narrative thriller "Christian Rhone" at the River Gallery in Chelsea at 6 p.m. on Nov. 3.
The screening is designed to encourage conversation between Patel and the audience in order to shape the final aspects of the film before it is submitted to film festivals around the world.
The film is a supernatural thriller set on a college campus that begins with an encounter between a young coed who wanders into a party at an elite fraternity and meets its mysterious, brooding president, Christian Rhone. As he becomes more obsessed with her, secrets are revealed. With a brisk running time of 80 minutes, the film sweeps forward with a varied cast of characters to a sinister conclusion.

Aspiring filmmakers and movie fans alike are invited to preview the film and participate in a Q & A discussion with Patel. The event is free and open to the public.
Patel graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in radio, television, and film and began working immediately on commercial and promotional production while continuing as an independent filmmaker.

A selection of his educational animations are on permanent display at the Houston Museum of Science. Patel has screened a number of short films at SXSW, Aurora Picture Show, Houston International Film Festival and the Beverly Hills Hi-Def Film Festival. He recently assisted a group of high school filmmakers with their feature film "Bindlestiffs" that won the audience award at the 2012 Slamdance Film Festival and has been purchased for distribution by filmmaker Kevin Smith.
