• Chelsea Council Approves MDOT Contract for Freer Rd, CHS Work (thesuntimesnews.com) — Chelsea drivers can expect major work on Freer Road in summer 2026 after City Council unanimously approved an MDOT contract for a resurfacing project from Dexter-Chelsea Road to the high school entrance. The job includes ADA ramp upgrades, minor curb and utility work, and uses federal WATS funding plus more than $200,000 from the city, with any cost overruns also on Chelsea.
   

• New Council Member Appointed as Chelsea Reviews Parks, Policing, and Development Progress (thesuntimesnews.com) — Chelsea’s Nov. 17 council meeting brought several big updates, including appointing Jacquelyn Bullerman to fill a vacant council seat and formally accepting state grant funding for the long-planned Main Street Park. City leaders also celebrated a Redevelopment Ready designation, advanced a five-year parks plan, and heard a detailed police report and infrastructure updates that will shape services and development across Chelsea.
   

• Ann Arbor-area star defenders named to Divisions 3-4 all-state football team (mlive.com) — Chelsea football standout Ben Van Hoek has been named to the Associated Press Divisions 3-4 all-state second team after a dominant senior season for Chelsea High School. The Cornell-bound defensive end led the area in sacks and tackles for loss, earning multiple top regional honors and helping power Chelsea to big wins this fall.
