Sounds & Sights Festival Chalk Art Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Chelsea.

1. Have you heard

Renowned Ann Arbor artist David Zinn, who is known for his chalk art has signed on with Sounds & Sights, according to the Chelsea Standard. Professional artists interested in designing a featured 7 foot x 7 foot space and teaching techniques must complete an application by May 31.

2. For your information

City Council Seats Available for the November 5th Election include: Three (3) Seats are four (4) year Council Terms, Two (2) seats are to finish out the remaining two (2) years of vacated Council Terms abd One (1) Mayoral Seat for a four (4) year term. Please note Affidavit of Identities and petitions are due to the City Office by August 1 by 4pm.

Mill Lake Camp in Chelsea wins number one spot in Pure Michigan competition.

4. Volunteers needed

Chelsea District Library needs after school helpers right away to prepare crafts and other items for Summer Reading. Come to the library after school and ask for Edith for further details.

  • Women's Self Defense

This class is based on Commando Krav Maga (CKM), which is a reality-based self defense system that teaches the tactics and techniques needed to survive violent or aggressive encounters. (Read more here.)
