In their first blog, the Dexter Bakery announced the arrival of gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free, soy and peanut-free baked goods. Anne Duffy writes, "While we will continue to carry our yummy traditional pastries, we are now happy to accommodate those customers in our community that have certain dietary restrictions. We were thrilled to discover No More Belly Aching, a wonderful Michigan bakery that specializes in all types of tasty breads, muffins, cupcakes, cookies and pies made for those individuals with various allergies and sensitivities. We will be carrying all these items starting April 2013."

Dexter Garden Club Writes About Summer Events

In it, Jeremy Heiken writes, "We are proud to announce that 2013 marks the Dexter Garden Club’s 20th anniversary as a community organization. To earmark this anniversary year, the Club has organized a Garden Walk of spectacular gardens in and around Dexter on June 15th in addition to our annual Plant Sale, which will occur on May 18th. We are hoping for vigorous attendance at both of these events."

Are You Ready to Be a Wish-A-Mile Star?

On Saline Patch, blogger Brigid Lossing writes about Make-A-Wish of Michigan's annual Wish-A-Mile 50 event. Lossing writes, "RydeOn! team 50 is the idea of our dear RydeOn! “sister” Tina Farraro of Saline, who has offered to take the lead in creating our team and leading us to victory for the kids. How hard is a fifty mile bike ride? Let's put it in the context of one of our usual indoor cycling classes. During a RydeOn! class most participants pedal about twenty miles – but that's a hard twenty miles where everyone is pushing as hard as they can to get the most out of their workout. On July 28, though, Wish-A-Mile 50 riders will have more than six hours to complete the trip."
