Washtenaw Community College Named Welding Educational Institution of the Year

The award recognizes the college for its exemplary dedication to promoting the image of welding in Washtenaw County.

ANN ARBOR – The American Welding Society (AWS) and the Welding Equipment Manufacturers Committee (WEMCO) have named Washtenaw Community College Educational Institution of the Year.

“Each year our welding students win regional and national competitions with some going on to international events sponsored by the AWS,” president Rose B. Bellanca said. “This honor is a testament to the quality of our WCC faculty and facilities that successfully prepare our champions and their classmates for satisfying and well-paying careers."

The awards recognize individuals and organizations that have shown exemplary dedication to promoting the image of welding in their communities. WCC will be formally recognized during FABTECH 2012 in November at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
