It’s a tail-wagging happy ending to a terrifying story that began six months ago for a dog in Lapeer County found with an arrow through her head.
According to a report in the Detroit News, Gemma, a 2-year-old retriever mix, was found in late March with an arrow through her head.
Veterinarians worked feverishly to save her life, and for the past several months Gemma has been recovering at the Devoted Barn, a nonprofit animal rescue located on 53 acres of land in Newport, Michigan.
