Get Out: Block Sale, Art Bash, Memorial, Softball

Residents on Highland Avenue in Clawson will hold a block sale 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Several homes are participating and many items will be offered  for sale.

The 2nd Annual Celebrity Softball Game in Royal Oak is 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park, Woodward Avenue & West 13 Mile. Detroit Lions Derrick Williams and Detroit Pistons Charlie Villanueva will be playing. A home run derby is set for 3 p.m.  Bounce houses, face painting are planned. All proceeds benefit the Mealz on Dwheelz Foundation and the Charlie Villanueva Foundation.

Royal Oak will host the annual Clay, Glass & Metal Festival 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at Washington Avenue and 5th Avenue. More than 125 artists will display their works. Restaurants will have food available on the streets. Live music/bands will play all day and night. Kids can visit the Creative Arts Studio tent.

A Michigan Vietnam Veteran traveling memorial will be on display at 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. The Clawson Historical Museum is hosting the display dedicated to Michigan's Vietnam veterans. The museum will be serving refreshments during the event.
